Would I be serving my family better to increase the variety of veggies eaten?
Hi Leanne, I try to ensure a healthy diet - and regular fruit and vegies. just a question, I tend to serve 4 - 5 different vegies at dinner each day - but largely rotate through the same basics (potato, carrot, broccoli, sweet corn, peas, beans, sweet potato, mushrooms). Is there any less benefit from regularly having the same vegies - or would I be serving my family (and myself!) better to increase the variety of vegies eaten (I really just try to ensure a colorful plate!).
Thanks,
Leann...

Hi There,
There really are no hard and fast rules to be honest, but if you were looking to optimize your nutrition then both the colour and the variety of vegies should be changed. There are so many vegies we don’t eat out of habit yet all vegies have a different nutritional makeup as well as different compounds for health. So we can only benefit by eating as broadly as we can. Still it sounds to me as though you are likely to be doing pretty well if your children eat those vegies happily, well done!

All the best,
